This is the Medicine Seller's other half - the one who kills mononoke (the 'Medicine Seller' or 'Kusuri-uri' is the hunter/detective).
I painted this in oil on wood, starting with a graphite drawing. I wanted the layers of oil paint to be translucent, showing the grain of the wood. The gold detailing on his skin and on/around the flowers was done with Sakura Pentouch gold metallic pen, and the 'background' layer is oil paint in gold. He's shiny!
